The Angles had a simple settlement at Malham in the 8th century. Evidence of man’s presence since the Stone Age is here in hut circles, field systems, enclosures and tumuli. From the 12th to the 16th centuries much of Malham belonged to the Fountains Abbey, which managed farms in the dale with flocks numbering thousands.
Set just a short distance from the famous Malham Cove, Malham Tarn and Gordale Scar, YHA Malham offers comfortable Pennine Way accommodation in the heart of a beautiful dales village. Surrounded by classic limestone scenery and with a prime location in the centre of the village, the hostel boasts a well-appointed restaurant, pretty grounds and a vast range of bedroom types, including the recent addition of en-suite facilities. The Pennine Way and Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way pass close by, making it a great option for walking and cycling holidays in the Dales.
