Addingham is an attractive former mill village with a long main street. Addingham’s history can be traced back to late the Mesolithic and Neolithic early Bronze Age. The glaciated valleys of the Aire and Ribble carved the easiest route between the east and west of the Pennines across Rombald’s Moor. In the Doomsday Book, Addingham is referred to as ‘Ediham’. A corn mill was first mentioned in 1315, near where High Mill is today. The weir, slanting across the river, is one of the oldest medieval structures in the village. It was destroyed by a storm in 1776 but was rebuilt the following year.
We are situated at the top of the village, so if your looking for somewhere to just sit and have a drink, a bite to eat or somewhere to stay we look forward to you visiting.
