A very warm welcome, wonderful company and delicious food. The beautiful home made biscuits and tea and coffee on arrival were particularly welcome. A great start to our walk.

Our favourite B&B on the Dales Way. It had been a rainy afternoon when we arrived and Philipa the owner greeted us with "You take your boots off and I'll put the kettle on". After tea and biscuits and a chat we went to The Clarendon for an evening meal. The food and beer were both good and the pub was very friendly, inviting us to join in the quiz. The next morning we had an excellent breakfast with more chatting with Philipa, who also made us a really good packed lunch.

I stayed here on Tuesday 1st April after walking from Ilkley.
I was made very welcome and offered home made biscuits on arrival.
The following morning I enjoyed a very large breakfast
This is an ideal place to stay on the Dales Way, its about a ten minute walk from the suspension bridge.

A small cluttered room (not en-suite) in a pleasant farmhouse well away from the route (at least 20 minutes of uphill walking at the end of the day). We arrived on Sunday at 6.02 to find that the pub (the only place to eat in the village) stopped serving food at 6 pm. Were it not for the quick thinking of the son of the house who phoned them and persuaded them to feed us, we would have gone hungry that night. We rated this B + B as 6.5/10.
