Milngavie, on the north west edge of Glasgow, is famous for being the start of the West Highland Way. A granite obelisk in the town centre marks the official starting point of the path. You'll have probably stayed in Glasgow the night before you start your walk, which of course means that there are plenty of places to stay and eat.
