Arriving here from Glen Falloch, you are approximately half-way along the whole walk, and have just crossed over from the Loch Lomond drainage system, draining into the Atlantic, into the Tay system draining into The North Sea. Crianlarich is just off of the way proper. There is good access from here to Ben More, at 1,174m, the fifteenth highest mountain in Britain. The town is a main communication centre, containing two original railway lines: the Caledonian Line’s Callander - Oban route which opened in 1873, and the North British West Highland Line from Glen Falloch to cross the Strath Fillan, which opened in 1897.
Glenardran House is a late Victorian villa situated in the centre of Crianlarich, therefore convenient for all local amenities.
