Interesting old harbour, with ice creams and fish and chips available. Simply keep to the seashore round the harbour. Boat trips can be taken to the Farnes and Holy Island from the harbour. One of the principal benefits of visiting Holy Island by sea is that it is done when the island is cut off from the mainland by the tides, and there are fewer visitors there. The boats are open so be prepared with waterproofs, even on a sunny day.
Nautically themed and fully residential The Olde Ship sits boldly above the tiny fishing harbour of Seahouses. Historic as it is with its strong local maritime connections, The Olde Ship continues to maintain its high traditional standards in the face of changing modern trends. Thoughtfully equipped, tastefully decorated bedrooms, realise our recent harmonised rating of four stars. Popular bar foods include locally caught sea produce, freshly made sandwiches, delicious homemade soups and wholesome daytime meals that extend into the evenings.
