The Way starts on the war memorial green, beside Chipping Camden’s 17th century Market Hall. It’s a tree-lined street of Cotswold yellow sandstone buildings. On the other side of the street is the Victorian County Police Station, the Old Grammar School and the 14th century Woolstaplers Hall. The Cotswolds are known as a centre of the woollen industry, and it was in the Woolstaplers Hall that the merchants did their trading. The building is now a museum.
The Volunteer Inn is a 17th century pub with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, offering unpretentious value-for-money accommodation, within a peaceful location in Chipping Campden. We serve a fabulous selection of Indian and English dishes, available in the Maharaja Restaurant, and real ale in the bar. The Inn is only a few hundred yards from the town centre, with the Cotswold Way at its doorstep. A cobbled courtyard, outdoor TV and well maintained gardens, leading to a children's play area can be enjoyed during the summer months and a warm cosy log fire in the winter. We show live football matches, rugby & cricket on four large TV screens with one located outside. The Volunteer Inn Bed & Breakfast in Chipping Campden offers unaffected and honest hospitality, which is hard to beat but easy to enjoy.
