The famous end of the Coast to Coast walk is also a feature of the Cleveland Way. This is another attractive town with red-roofed houses squeezed between the cliffs, where once it was said that you could smuggle items from the harbour to the top of the village without them going into the street via a series of trap doors. Legend has it that Robin Hood came here for his holidays away from Bad King John. There are plenty of B&Bs, cafés, tea rooms, pubs and hotels. ** PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to deliver/collect bags from any accommodation at the bottom of the bay – bags delivered to Bay Taxis, £3.00 collection charge applicable.
