Brampton is a small market town built of local sandstone, and situated in a hollow formed by glacial action which took place during the ice-age. St Martin's Church is famous as the only church designed by the Pre-Raphaelite architect Philip Webb, and contains exquisite sets of stained glass windows designed by Sir Edward Burne-Jones.
Situated in the quaint Cumbrian market town of Brampton, The Howard Arms is a family run pub with a balance of traditional touches and contemporary twists. Our pub has a relaxed atmosphere. A family run Bed & Breakfast in the small market town of Brampton, which was carefully renovated in 2014 and holds a Grade II listing and was first recorded as being an Inn in 1839. During our extensive renovations of the building our one of a kind historic well in the middle of our lounge was discovered, plus an ancient salt oven, which was very, very rare in past times.
