Staithes is about 3km from the actual start of the walk at Hinderwell Church and you can either take a regular local bus to Hinderwell to start the walk or you can spend an attractive hour walking along the Cleveland Way from Staithes and turning inland into Port Mulgrave and along to Hinderwell to reach the start point at the church. Staithes is the quintessential Yorkshire seaside village, with rolling breakers at high tide, rockpools at low tide, old fishermens' cottages hanging above Staithes Beck which runs into the sea. There is also a heritage centre, a few shops and a couple of nice pubs on the slope above the bay. It is home to locally built boats and a small fleet of brightly coloured Whitby Cobles, which are used by local fishermen to catch cod, lobsters.
Our accommodation is ideally placed, as all of the attractions of Staithes are within walking distance, including harbour, museum, art gallery, pubs and cafes. The Cleveland Way passes through Staithes, where walkers can have an overnight stop, their luggage delivered prior to their arrival. We are also well-placed for exploring the surrounding areas such as Whitby, Goathland and Dalby and Guisborough Forests. We have created 5 welcoming en-suite double/twin rooms that are appointed to a high standard. Each is accessed from a decked area from which there are stunning views of sunsets and seaward views over the distant Boulby cliffs. A continental breakfast can be provided by prior arrangement, otherwise there are plenty of local places that provide full breakfast and evening meals.

Roraima House is a large Victorian family home situated at the top end of Staithes. We offer homemade cake and tea/coffee upon your arrival, and a hearty breakfast the next day. We have two en-suite rooms on our first floor (one with a four poster bed and roll top bath) and two bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchen on our second floor, which can be B&B or self-catering. We have free parking, bike storage and wi-fi. We are a non-smoking property. There are lovely views of Boulby Cliff from all our bedrooms. We have seating in our enclosed front garden in the summer months. We offer a discount for single room occupancy.
