This is a pleasant if rather straggly moorland margin village with a pub providing meals and beds, as well as several other accommodation and camping possibilities. There is also a well-stocked shop. The village has its own train station on the scenic Middlesborough to Whitby branch line.
On a working organic farm, we have 3 types of accommodation to suit different needs and budgets: 1. Simple Camping Barn, dorm with covered mattresses for those used to camping. Use your own sleeping bags, food & cooking equipment. Good washroom with 2 toilets, a hot shower, fridge, toaster and sinks. May share with other walkers. 2. Luxury Self-Catering Bunkbarn, dorm with sheeted beds and pillows with cases. Extra charge for duvet/towel and breakfast. Only share with own friends. Fully equipped kitchen. 3 toilets, 2 showers. 3. B&B in traditional farmhouse, own room with use of family bathroom including breakfast. Lift from the village after pub meal.

Hart Hall B&B is located near Glaisdale Village, on a working dairy farm which has been carefully developed to retain the old charm of a farm steeped in character. You will arrive down a short, tree-lined lane into a setting of traditional sandstone buildings and barns. The accommodation is contained in a 17th century cottage joined to the main farmhouse, where you can enjoy your own privacy and come and go undisturbed. The cottage contains two bedrooms, a double and twin, with private shower/wc upstairs and breakfast/living room with TV, fridge and tea/coffee facilities downstairs. Its an idea stopover for walkers and cyclists doing Wainwright's Coast to Coast route, with plenty of space for wet coats and muddy boots.
