A historic market town that dates back to Roman times, and was actually larger in mediaeval times than it is today. Brough today has at its heart the Golden Fleece Inn. Just across the road is the Castle Hotel, at the back of which can still be seen numerous stables - reflecting its importance as a coaching stop. Once the coaching days were over the buildings housed the horses working in the local lead and barytes mines. Brough offers a special look back in time where history has left its mark for visitors to explore and enjoy.
This beautiful AA 5 star rated 18th Century Coaching Inn is located in the Upper Eden Valley. The Inn has been totally refurbished and restored to its former glory with sumptuous en-suite bedrooms complimenting the mouth watering food. We can assure all our guests of the warmest of Cumbrian welcomes.
