Comments by walkers who stayed at Wharfe View Farm in Burnsall on The Dales Way
Stayed at Wharfe View B&B the night of June 22, 2016 while walking the Dales Way. The room was comfortable and our host Richard, friendly and helpful. Supper at the Red Lion was very good.

Nice room and ensuite, convenient for the Red Lion for supper, and breakfast was great.

We had a great stay and Richard was extremely accommodating for everything. He certainly went out of his way to assist us with everything that we needed.
My only recommendation would be to upgrade the carpeting.

Friendly but a little basic. Good breakfast. Dinner at the Red Lion is excellent -- a welcome surprise.

A lovely place to stay. No frills but a homely and welcoming atmosphere. Red Lion was a bonus with a great atmosphere and good food and beer.
Another filling breakfast to start our day and a cheerful and chatty host. You can't ask for more really.

Lovely and homely place, set off from the route but a welcome relief after what turned out to be a hot and sunny day.
BTW: The breakfast is enough to feed an elephant and absolutley gorgeous.

We stayed here on the first night of our walk and found it excellent, we were able to dry out all our very wet clothing, breakfast was great and meal at Red Lion jolly good too. Would definitely recommend it.

Of all the B & B`s we have used this must be the tops for breakfast....fabulous Bacon/Sausage and Mushrooms with Scrambled eggs to die for.
The hospitality was as warm and welcoming as you would expect in such a well run establishment.
Red Lion as previously stated a bit pricey for what it is. but Wharfe View made up for the disappointment of the local Inn

Clean and comfy, very friendly family run B&B. Breakfast was huge, the bacon the best of the trip (and that's saying something), great packed lunch too.

I arrived sodden at the back door, but they let me troop through their house and leave my wet things at the front entrance. They were receiving relatives at the same time we arrived, so there was a bit of a flurry at first, with piles of luggage to make your way around, but rather than being off-putting, this made me feel part of the family! We had a very comfortable twin room with lovely soft cotton duvet covers, and a small but adequate ensuite bathroom (with shampoo, shower gel, etc.). The breakfast was copious and well-cooked, and the hostess apologized for having a house-ful of relatives, but we didn't hear a sound from anyone. There's a comfortable sitting room with a TV, with all the family trappings around. One small problem I encountered is that I'm allergic to some scents, and there was a scent in our room (laundry soap? air freshener?) that I couldn't pinpoint that gave me a headache. Supper in town at the Red Lion was good, but more expensive than I thought it should be. I wanted information on the bus from Burnsall, as I had a blister and wasn't sure I should continue walking, but that information was hard to find. I ended up walking to Grassington and hooking up with a bus there.

Welcoming accomodation, comfortable and everything you would need. Very friendly owners let us use the bath in another room as our en-suite only had shower. Big breakfast a little much for us but should satisfy the biggest of appetites!
Recommended for the money.

April 2006. Our first night after Ilkley. Clean and comfortable room, shaerd bathroom but not a problem. Bed comfy and breakfast was very tasty. What more do you want to rest your weary bones
Gordon Tasker, left on 23 June 2006
Comfortable accommodation. Certainly much more than adequate (see previous comments). Run by a very friendly local family. The breakfast was excellent. The only negative point was that we arrived at 4pm to find no-one was at home. However the weather was good so the 20 min wait was no hardship.
Eric and Cas, left on 22 May 2006
Nice and friendly if a bit basic. Dog friendly.
