Comments by walkers who stayed at Raikes Acre in Burnsall on The Dales Way
We stayed here in Sep 2016 in the Manor House annex. It is a nice old inn by the river. Our bedroom was medium size with the typically small English bathroom but the shower was good.

The receptionist on our arrival appeared a little officious but made the good point that we needed to reserve a time for dinner as they were very busy. We shared a good fish platter in the pub. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice & turned out to be one of the best we had along the Dales Way.

Wonderful friendly welcome from Jack and Wilma. The self contained cottage is very comfortable with every need accommodated for. The shower was great and the bed comfy. Breakfast is in the main house with a super view of the dale. We only spent one night on our Dalesway walk but could have spent longer. Tip. There is a gate on the right at an angle just before Burnsall. If you go through the gate and cross the field to another gate, then you are at the bottom of the hill at Hartlington. Go up the steep hill and Raikes Acre is on the right.

Despite the long, steep walk up to the house we were very content with our stay in the bright and airy upstairs suite ;

My wife and I stayed here on day one of our Dales Way walk. It proved to be the best of six stops with self contained accommodation in the grounds of the larger house. The walk up the steep hill to get there was well worth it and the view from the breakfast table must be one of the best in Yorkshire. This and the excellent breakfast made a tremendous start to the day ahead. Highly recommended.
