The village church at King’s Stanley is partly Norman. Find the gravestone of the barmaid, Ann Collins (1804), with an interesting copper plaque. Stanley Mill, built in 1815 on the River Frome, was an early example of fireproof building techniques. Wood was banned, even in the construction of the floors, which are paved in stone and held up by iron joists. The mill was powered by five water wheels.
