Comments by walkers who stayed at Hayburn Wyke Hotel in Cloughton on The Cleveland Way

Once you find The Hayburn Wyke Inn and found the staff you are assured a pleasant and relaxing stopover with good food and pleasant rooms. We stayed on Saturday night and it remained quiet and tranquil throughout the night. The breakfast was excellent but it is not served until 09.00. This meant a late start and even later as the kitchen staff magically disappeared and it took twenty minutes to find someone to pay our bill for the accommodation. I still recommend this stopover even if it appeared at times I was on the Mary Celeste.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable. We found it easily enough and it is very close to the trail.
If you don't like loud music keeping you awake until 1am, don't stay there on a Saturday night.

A bit tricky to find from the path in the woods but worth it! Lovely quiet location, lovely room and good breakfast. All staff friendly and helpful. Food wasn't available the night we stayed but the pub down the road had excellent food so it wasn't a problem. Definately recommend a stay here.

We walked past the hotel, so adding two or three miles to an already tiring walk, so make sure you know where the hotel is if you are staying here. A member of staff at the hotel was very helpful when we phoned and identified where we were from a very scanty description and guided us safely to the right place. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and we had an excellent meal in the bar before collapsing into bed.

A pleasant suprise to find such a good hotel in such a quiet and idyllic location. Room was clean and spacious with good ensuite bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast the following morning. Pleasant and friendly staff make this a place to aim for on your walk.
