About Drymen
A Pleasant Green village, could almost be Sussex! Serviced by buses from Glasgow. Good hotels and B and Bs. Spar shop for groceries and a nice tea shop. Ceilidhs are held in the hotels at weekends and a local pipe band often plays in the square on Sunday afternoons. The land was owned by The Marquis’s of Montrose, one of whom lent Rob Roy £1000 for cattle droving. The small Clachan Inn is one of the oldest licensed pubs in the country.
The Pottery cafe and bar in Drymen centre has been taken over by new management and is now serving food from 9:30 to 21:00 7 days a week. Ideal for big groups. One of the only places you can reserve a table which I can do for you prior to arrival or when the guests arrive.
