Border Cottage was built sometime during the second half of the 16th century, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, and so is one of the oldest houses in Petersfield. It is a particularly attractive whitewashed timber-framed house. The original box-frame timber construction is still party visible in the oldest part of the house which is now the dining room and the upstairs landing. The guest room is part of the more 'recent' extension built in the 18th centruy, which is one large pretty bedroom (either a twin or a double bed) with an attractive and comfortable sitting area with TV and private bathroom.

Location and supplementary information [view map]
Border Cottage is located in the heart of the historic market town of Petersfield, within 10 minutes walk of the railway station and very accessible from the A3, the main road from London to Portsmouth. We are near to the Heath with its boating lake and are very close to good pubs and restaurants. The town lies beside the beautiful South Downs, which will soon become a National Park. Tourists and business people love Petersfield for its central location in the south of England, only a short drive from the historic towns of Chichester, Winchester and Portsmouth.
