St. Boswells

The Dryburgh Abbey Hotel sits proudly in its own ten acre estate on the banks of the River Tweed. The views from the public rooms and many of the bedrooms are of the majestic river and/or the historic and atmospheric ruins of the Abbey. Thus splendid barinial mansion dates from the mid Nineteenth Century, and is owned and managed by the Grose family, hoteliers for mare than one hundred years. An ideal base for all manner of country persuits (St Cuthburt's Way passes within 100 yards), and we boast excellent cuisine. The Tweed Restaurant, with fabulous unspoiled views of the river, serves some of the finest food in the Scottish Borders. The menu changes daily, and features the 'Art Cuisine' of Head Chef Rene Gate. A fine dinner awaits you after a day filled with walking, fishing, trouser press, iron and ironing board, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, remote contol colour TV, radio and full use of the indoor heated swimming pool.

Approached along a tree-lined drive, Whitehouse is a country house with views over the fertile farmland of the valley of the River Tweed in the Scottish Borders, about an hour south of Edinburgh. It was built in 1872 as a dower house for the Duke of Sutherland and is warm, spacious and comfortable.
