Situated in the Valley of the Jed Water, Jedburg is a perfect example of a mediaeval border town, being only 16 km / 10 miles from the border itself at Carter Bar. It isan attractive small town and has been a 'Royal Burgh' for 700 years. Coming into the town from the south (you will be coming from the North) the visitor will pass the ancient Capon Tree and greeted by the majestic sight of the ruin of Jedburgh Abbey. This was founded in 1138 by David I for monks from Beauvais in France, it occupies a commanding position overlooking the river.

Windyridge is an attractive modern house with a west facing conservatory where guests can sit and enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Jedburgh, its' Abbey & Castle, and the hills beyond - Great Sunsets. Hungary people are catered for with large breakfasts including home made jam and marmalade, also Scotch pancakes and muffins. We have 1 family ensuite, 1 twin and 1 single with a large bathroom adjoining. All rooms have colour TV, a hospitality tray with tea/coffee and a box of home made cookies. Close by there are a variety of pubs and restaurants serving good food; local fishing, golf and of course wonderful countryside walks.
