The High Force Centre is located in the beautiful area of Forest-in-Teesdale on the B6277 with easy access to the village of Middleton-Teesdale to the East, and Alston to the West. It was designated an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and a site of special scientific interest in the early seventies. It also offers easy access to local walks including the Pennine Way and attractions such as the magnificent High Force Waterfall and Cauldron Snout. High Force Centre has been extensively refurbished. It offers dormitory style rooms with a total of 28 beds and a single bunk bed room with a shower. There are female and male cubicles, fully accessible shower rooms, a dining room and a lounge with cosy open fires and central heating throughout. There is a modern kitchen catering for a variety of dietary needs. Our sleeping accommodation is bunk beds 3 rooms can sleep 6 1 room can sleep 8 1 room can sleep 2 (incorporating a shower) @ £22 per person per night.

The hotel is on the Pennine way. Head towards Upper Teesdale then follow signs High Force waterfall. The hotel is next to the waterfall.

Known originally as 'The Travellers Rest' at the turn of the 1900s, it's easy to imagine how weary folk found peace and sustenance in this spectacular spot, with its incredible position nestling beneath the wild open fells. Open lunchtime 12-2pm and evenings 7-9pm May-Oct for meals, although we close Monday's from Oct to May. A friendly country Inn, Langdon Beck offers a warm welcome to all those who cross our threshold and pause to sit awhile either contemplating our wonderful views or relax around a roaring fire listening and talking to our fellow Dales friends in the cosy bars.
