We have the privilege, firstly of living in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but also we have an unrivalled location. Each of the nine guest bedrooms at Lowbyer Manor has been designed with the guest in mind, We have; a single room, twins, doubles, a family room and also superior rooms. All of our rooms are en-suite with either a bath or shower room.

Our location in the heart of the Northern Pennines is a perfect base for day tripping to the Lake District, the Scottish Borders, Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall Country, the Northern Durham Dales, or the famous Yorkshire Dales. We are in the heart of an UNESCO recognised Area of Natural Scenic beauty, and are justifiably proud of the unique landscapes and heritage here in Northern Cumbria.
 

Alston House Hotel is also on the Pennine Way and is just a short detour from the coast to coast cycle route, and for those hardy outdoor types we are seen as an oasis in which to relax, unwind and indulge. Guests will enjoy a hearty Cumbrian breakfast prepared using local produce wherever possible (including the famous Alston sausage).

Our comfortable rooms all offer en-suite bathrooms, hairdryers, colour television and tea and coffee making facilities. We have five well appointed bedrooms comprising of three double rooms and two twins, three of these are classified as 'family rooms', with extra single beds.We also have a nonsmoking lounge with television for the exclusive use of our guests. You can relax in the 'Lounge Bar' and admire the views of the fells and the magnificent sunsets. Below is the 'Cellar Bar' with access to the patio/beer garden and the quoits pitch. Both bars serve the best of real ales as well as wines, spirits and lagers. Take one of our packed lunches with you when you walk the Pennine Way , cycle the C2C route, or explore the North Pennines

Greycroft is set on a corner site with open views south across the beautiful South Tyne valley towards Cross Fell (the highest point on the Pennines) is in the peaceful hamlet of the Raise, one mile from Alston, and is tastefully furnished to a high standard with our guests in mind.

Sitting in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Alston is England’s highest market town, where steep cobbled streets are surrounded by wild solitary fells. YHA Alston is a traditional property overlooking the South Tyne Valley and makes an excellent stopover point for walkers and cyclists on the Pennine Way and the Coast-to-Coast cycle route. A full meals service and good self-catering facilities are available.

Old world charm and a warm welcome.Formally known as Foulard and birth place of Millican Dalton " Professor of Adventure".John Wesley also preached here before the chapels were built Crookbank Cottage is an 17th Century cottage situated 4 miles from the Pennine Way and C2C route 1/2 a mile from Nenthead approching from Alston. Spectacular views.
