About Aysgarth-1
The village is best known for its waterfalls, where the main river of Wensleydale, the river Ure, tumbles over a series of cascades. Facilities include a National Park information centre (Tel 01969 662910); various accommodation including inns, B&Bs and a bus service along the dale linking the village with Hawes and with its main town of Leyburn. There is also a plan to reconstruct the former railway which ran the length of the valley, linking in with the national system at both ends.
