About Staveley
Just off the route proper, Staveley is another attractive village, with B&B accommodation, shops etc. The pub is called The Eagle And Child and serves Real Ale. Staveley boasts a tower built in 1388 and this is part of the remains of the church of St. Margaret's.

An old coaching inn serving Real Ale - its speciality! This pub will appeal to any one with a sense of tradition, although in Summer it can be busy in the evening. The popular bar also serves a variety of meals at lunch and dinner.
Location and supplementary information[view map] From the South (Coming from Kendal): Leave the A591 at the sign for Staveley and Kentmere. Cross the railway crossing and the Eagle & Child is on your left just before the bridge. There is parking to the side and opposite the pub. Open all day every day. Food served lunch and evening. All rooms recently refurbished and are centrally heated with TV, tea and coffee.

Hagg End is a working farm situated approximately 2.5 from the end of the Dalesway. You walk through the yard on route. Pick up and drop off available. Ramblers, don't worry about the mud on your boots, we offer a very warm welcome to all those using the Dalesway. Pickup/drop back service for people staying more than 1 night. We have a double and a family room with ensuite (sleeps up to 6, or 5 in seperate beds).
