About Sedbergh There is a tourist information centre here. There is a public telephone here. There is a pub here. There is a outdoor shop here. There is a grocery shop here. There is a restaurant here. There is a sandwich shop here. There is a bank here. There is a public lavatory here. There is a cashpoint here. There is a pharmacy here. There is a post office here. There is a cafe here. There is a bus stop here. There is a bank here.

Here the landscape looks more like the lake district as Sedbergh stands at the gateway to the Lake District, at the foot of the Howgill Fells. The village and the fells make an excellent diversion from the Dales Way. There is a broad main street with alleys leading off it containing some wonderful old houses including one in Weaver`s Yard where an old house contains the massive chimney where Bonnie Prince Charlie is claimed to have hidden in 1745. Like Dent, Sedbergh grew rich on the Wool trade and you will find campsites, B&B and hotel accommodation. There are shops, banks and of course the ubiquitous ale houses.
