Set on the northern edge of the Howgill fells in limestone country, Newbiggin-on-Lune gets its name from the river Lune
St Helens well sits in the village. Stone buildings, a Methodist chapel dating from the early 1800s, the church of St Aidan, a village hall, a plant nursery which is also a coffee shop serving a large selection of meals during the day and has a well stocked gift shop. Bessy Beck Trout Farm at the opposite end of the village has a coffee shop and a farm shop.

Brownber Hall is a modern take on the quintessential British country home, overlooking the Howgill Fells. We are located on the Dales Highway and ¼ mile from the Coast to Coast path. Brownber Hall offers comfortable en-suite rooms, each with 300-thread count linen, tea/coffee making facilities, televisions and hairdryers. All rooms throughout the house have access to the free WiFi.
Guests can relax in one of two guest sitting rooms, in front of the log burner on colder days or outside on the terrace overlooking the Howgill Fells when the weather allows. We are licenced and have a fully stocked honesty bar, so you can enjoy a glass of wine, local ale or a single malt at the end of your day.
A delicious home-cooked breakfast, made with fresh local produce, is included. Evening meals available - 2 course £15. Book in advance and also with any dietary requirements or lifts to and from local pub if required (please contact us before the start of your trip to arrange if this is required).

Formerly a seventeenth century shepherds cottage, Bents Camping Barn is situated on Bents Farm outside the village of Newbiggin-on-Lune, on the Coast To Coast Route. Electrical lighting and powerpoints run throughout the property, with a one pound meter system. There are 12 bunkbeds in total, and ample cutlery and crockery are provided. The kitchen has a microwave, fridge, toaster, 3 electric cooking rings, 2 electric convector heaters and 2 electric kettles. The barn is surrounded by beautiful panoramic views of the local landscape and the Settle Carlisle Railway is only 5 miles away at Kirkby Stephen. £6 per person per night. Hire of full barn £72.
