The Monaghan family have run The Royal Oak Hotel since 1978. This 18th Century rural hostelry is at the heart of the village. Original features include the beamed ceilings and welcoming log fires, and add to the charm and character of this traditional inn. The accommodation comprises five comfortable en-suite guest bedrooms available (three doubles, one twin and one single). Luncheon in the Restaurant Monday to Saturday is from our Bar Menu with an excellent choice and range with everything from Full Meals to a simple Snacks. The hotel is derived from a row of 17th Century cottages, which have been extensively re-designed to offer our guests relaxed accommodation in an idyllic setting. Nesting directly beneath Roseberry Topping, a fabulous local landmark, our guests accommodation offers eight luxuriously appointed bedrooms all of which have full en suite facilities. Our accommodation offers several different types of room, ranging from our standard and twin rooms to our executive, family suite and four poster bedroom. All of our rooms are furnished to a high standard of guest accommodation to include Nicam TV, CD/DVD players. The older part of the property, which is now a self contained guest wing with views over the village, is a former ale house with a cock fighting pit in the attic. The second guest room in a newer extension also has views over the village. Close to shops, pubs and other attractions. Lifts available from Gribdale Gate £1 per person each way. Single occupancy available @ £35. Secure garage storage for cyclists. Dogs £5 per night. For clients wishing to stay in the same accommodation for 2 nights, we will pick up and drop off at Clay Bank Top for a charge of £10 per journey.
