This village is picturesquely situated on a quiet side road in the midst of beautiful Borrowdale, a mile or so up valley
from the head of Derwentwater lake. There is B&B and farmhouse accommodation as well as a cafe (useful for its loos as well as for a coffee or lunch stop). Farm camping is available. There is a public phone in the village.

There are regular buses that run through the Borrowdale valley from Keswick and stop at Grange double hump-back bridge. The hotel is situated a quarter of a mile the right hand side after the bridge. If driving, from the M6, leave at junction 40 and follow the A66 to Keswick. From there follow the Borrowdale sign on the B5289. After four miles turn right at the sign for Grange over the double hump-back bridge.

Greenbank Country House is a lovely Victorian house which is quietly situated in its own grounds in the heart of the Borrowdale Valley. From the elevated site there are magnificent views of the valley and Derwentwater. It is 3½ miles south of Keswick, ideally situated for fell walking, climbing. Greenbank is a small friendly country house were people come to relax and enjoy themselves. Many people return year after year.
