Coast to Coast walkers who fancy a spot of luxury en route can spend the night in an award-winning 5-star eco lodge. Situated two hundred yards from the footpath, three miles east of the market town of Richmond, the newly opened lodges will give walkers the chance to stay somewhere entirely unique. Distinctive and contemporary to look at, the lodges are set on the shores of two privately owned lakes and offer a standard of accommodation rarely seen along the Coast to Coast footpath. They have living plant convex roofs, large glass frontages and incorporate various eco friendly features including a geothermal heating system that harnesses energy from the lakes themselves.
Usually only offered for weekly holiday lets or short breaks, one of the lodges, Louis, will now be made available as one-night stays for Coast to Coast walkers. “The Brompton Lakes site is just over the half way point on the popular walk from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay so we thought it would make a nice treat for those making the 190-mile journey.
The lodges, which sleep up to six, are available for single night bookings from £264 per lodge. There are 3 bedrooms which can be made up as super king-size doubles, or singles. One of the bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom and separate shower, there is another bathroom with shower overhead shared between the other two bedrooms.
