First opened as “Ullswater View Boarding House” in 1904, Old Water View has been welcoming walkers, travellers and holiday makers for over one hundred years. Alfred Wainwright stayed here on a number of occasions whilst he was creating the world famous “Coast to Coast” walk, the route of which passes within 100 metres of our door. Old Water View is very “walker friendly”, and if you should happen to arrive with us slightly “damp”, we will try to ensure that you leave the next day fully refreshed, and in dry clothing and boots!! We are now a 24 cover licensed restaurant. We automatically save a table for those who book a room. The menu is on our website. Please phone if you do not require this.

Grisedale Lodge is a lovely traditional Lakeland house which is directly on the Coast to Coast route. After your walk from Shap or Grasmere, you can enjoy a friendly welcome, a good night''s sleep in one of our three comfortable rooms, all with views of the Lakeland Fells and our garden. Two of the rooms are double or twin with en suite facilities and the third room is a double with an en suite toilet and private bathroom (downstairs). There is a resident''s lounge and dining room with a balcony overlooking the garden. A hearty breakfast awaits before setting off on the next day of your Coast to Coast adventure.

Greenbank is a family run working farm with stunning views, well decorated rooms and log fires when it's cold. Full English breakfast is served with home-made preserves. Evening meals are provided if ordered in advance. Pack lunches and good drying facilities are also available.

This traditional Lakeland B & B is extremely popular with Coast to Coasters providing comfortable accommodation and a warm welcome. The farm nestles at the foot of Arnison Crag with magnificent views of Placefell and right up the valley towards Hartsop and beyond. It is ideally situated for anyone wishing to stay longer to walk to High Street taking in Hayswater. There's Fairfield and St. Sunday Crag to tackle as well as Helvellyn. Taking the Ullswater Steamer from Glenridding to Howtown and walking back makes a great day out. Noran Bank farm offers one room which can be used as a double, Twin or a Family Roomwith private facilities. Single bookings are considered with a £5 supplement. There is a private bathroom with shower just down the corridor. Tea/Coffee making facilities provided. Well behaved dogs are accepted at £3 per dog per night and packed lunches are available on request. There is a Dining/Lounge downstairs with Coloured TV. Evening meals are served at nearby pubs in Patterdale. Opening in April 2010 'Shepherd's Crook' Bunk House - Well equipped kitchen/seating area, shower room. Bedding and towels provided. Parking for three cars. Ensuite Bedroom with bunk bed sleeps 2 £18 per person - £5 supplement for single occupancy. Bedroom 2 sleeps six @ £13 per person. DIY breakfast supplied @ £6 per person.

Deepdale Hall is a grade II listed 17th century farmhouse situated on a working Lakeland hill farm in the scenic valley of Deepdale,

Mosscrag was built in 1918 situated in Glenridding. It has been a private home as well as providing bed and breakfast for many years. Now a family run guest house based in beautiful Glenridding in the heart of the English Lake District, Mosscrag makes an ideal base for exploring the Lakes. Three hundred yards away is Lake Ullswater, where you can fish, sail, canoe or windsurf or sail to Howtown and walk the seven miles back to Glenridding which is supposed to be the best lake walk in the district; or sail to Pooley Bridge, have lunch and sail back on a later boat. The whole area is ideal for the enthusiastic walker, as the poets Wordsworth and Coleridge discovered, and we are well positioned for those who want to do the Coast to Coast walk.

This cosy, olde worlde inn offers a bar with open fires, lots of atmosphere and good food. It is only 8 miles walk from Grasmere to Patterdale and if you have time and energy there is a delightful circular walk along the shore of Ullswater . Pets allowed.
