It is set in peaceful and spacious grounds at the northern edge of the attractive village of Orton with its limestone houses and cottages. Walkers descending the fell on the C2C route will clearly notice the church with its uniquely lime rendered tower, which overlooks Mostyn House. On entering the village, we are situated on the corner of the lane leading to the church, which if you have time, is well worth a visit. Ours is a family home and we are used to dealing with and drying wet clothes and muddy boots! Guests are welcome to use our laundry facilities for a small charge. We have three letting rooms sharing two bathrooms. We can also provide a cot and high chair if necessary. All our rooms have TV and tea/coffee making facilities. We offer a range of breakfast alternatives based on locally sourced products where possible and packed lunches are available on request. Scar Side Farm Street Lane, Orton Cumbria CA10 3SE Tel: 01539 624810  Property type: Farmhouse B & B Scar Side can be found at the end of a tranquil lane tucked under Orton Scar. The cottage overlooks both the Howgills and the eastern Lakeland fells, and forms part of a traditional Westmorland Longhouse. The owners Dave and Elaine live on site in the farmhouse. Scar Side Farm is a cottage with three bedrooms, one single, one double and one kingsize bed, open plan lounge and kitchen, with a wood burning fire in the lounge area. Further rooms available in 2011. This accommodation would suit a group of people travelling together, but smaller groups are also easily accommodated. Scar Side Farm is directly on the Coast to Coast route. Refreshment and snacks now availble at Scar Side for walkers on route and for those staying in Orton that night.
