Bee Cottage Guesthouse is situated on the edge of the beautiful Durham Dales and enjoys stunning views. Its quiet, rural location just off the main A68 makes it a great place to relax and unwind. In recent years, Bee Cottage has undergone extensive refurbishment and has a 4 star official rating. All eight bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms, TV, tea-making facilities and hairdryer. Some ground floor rooms are available. We operate a non-smoking policy throughout. There are two conservatory dining rooms and two guests' lounges, all of which have lovely views. There is ample car parking. Evening meal menus will be provided at the time of booking.

Shotley Bridge is the place where steel-making started in this region. It became a spa town, and its prosperity has a legacy in many fine houses that survive. One of them, originally a swordmaking warehouse, is now the Crown & Crossed Swords, near the A68 and a short distance from Consett. Run by the same family for 50 years, the pub has a delightful traditional bar, an upstairs restaurant and 10 good-sized bedrooms for B&B guests.
