An old coaching inn serving Real Ale - its speciality! This pub will appeal to any one with a sense of tradition, although in Summer it can be busy in the evening. The popular bar also serves a variety of meals at lunch and dinner.

From the South (Coming from Kendal): Leave the A591 at the sign for Staveley and Kentmere. Cross the railway crossing and the Eagle & Child is on your left just before the bridge. There is parking to the side and opposite the pub. Open all day every day. Food served lunch and evening. All rooms recently refurbished and are centrally heated with TV, tea and coffee.
