About Invermoriston There is a pub here. There is a restaurant here.
Invermoriston is the small hamlet dating back to at least 1600, built around the junction between the A887and the main A82. The focus is the Glenmoriston Arms Hotel. This was built in the 1800s and took over from the turf-built inn that served Johnson and Boswell as they passed along the lochside track in 1773. The Hotel lies at the heart of the village, overlooking the main road junction, and also offers a separate tavern and bistro. Todays visitor will also find a post office and general shop and a craft shop.

 Property type: Guesthouse

Heather and Robert Forbes welcome you to Bracarina House a family run Bed and Breakfast, which is set in the middle of the beautiful village of Invermoriston. Bracarina House is ideal for walkers as it sits right on the path of the Great Glen Way. Bracarina house is an equally perfect location for tourists visiting the area to stay, as it is situated between Inverness and Fort William and is on the road to Skye. We offer comfortable spacious accommodation which comprises of 1 double, 1 twin, 1 triple, 3 double/twin rooms. All the rooms have en-suites, tea/coffee making facilities, TV and foot spas. After a long day, why not relax in our private sauna (available for a small fee of £5 per person). Packed lunches can be booked for your next day’s walk at a cost of £6.50. We offer a hearty breakfast to set you up for the next day, either for walking the Great Glen Way or tramping the hills in Skye or just touring the area. We have 3 breakfast times to accommodate everyone in the dining room and ask our guests to make a 1st and 2nd choice. they are 7.30, 8.00 or 8.30. We do our best to accommodate everyone’s choice depending on how busy the dining room is on that morning On arrival, we ask our walking guests to put their boots in our drying room and to select a pair of crocs to wear up to the house and then pick up their luggage from the right-hand side of the garage. The drying room is located at the side of the garage and if walkers arrive before 4pm they can leave their back packs etc in the drying room and can access the garage to get shoes out of their luggage should they want to change them. Unfortunately, we won’t be ready to take guests until 4pm. Our advice is to leave Fort Augustus later or there is a café (Glen Rowan) or the hotel (Gen Moriston) where walkers can get some refreshments while they wait.

The original hotel built on this site dates back from 1740, 6 years before the battle of Culloden when the building was originally a drover’s inn, a stop over point for farmers taking their cattle to and from market. ''Small is beautiful' is certainly an appropriate way to describe this delightful hotel', according to one AA inspector. The feeling carries over to the hotel's restaurant, which was deemed recently by one guest as 'one of the most superb culinary experiences in Scotland' All bedrooms have: private en-suite facilities, direct dial telephone, colour television and radio hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities.
