A Forestry Comission village, established in the 1950s and `60s offering Licensed Walkers accommodation. B & B and camping facilities.

Special Offer for 2018 Book a second night at the award winning Forest View Inn to split the last 28 miles to Kirk Yetholm and save £20 per person on the second night. *You will be transported from and back to a point near to Windy Gyle free of charge in our legally licensed and properly insured minibus. Forest View Inn is an award winning 4 star Inn with 7 rooms all either en-suite or with private shower & wc. It was featured on the BBCs Pennine Way documentary. We have won the Northumberland National Park `Welcoming places award 2 years running and we won The Northumberland WOW 24/7 B&B / Guesthouse of the year 2016. Stay in one of our recently modernised rooms all of which have their own en-suite or private facilities (there are no shared facilities at Forest View Inn). Our drying room is permanently hot and is big enough to dry the wettest muddiest boots and gear. Our restaurant has a choice of 6 meat and 6 `veggie options every day and our Bar has 4 locally brewed hand pulled craft ales to choose from. *(free bus provided for guests who dine in our restaurant on both nights)

Border Forest Park is a secluded, quiet, dog friendly family run park, located in the centre of Northumberland and on the edge of The National Park . Directly off the A68 the park has direct access onto the Pennine Way and the mighty Keilder Forest. A burn running though the site offers a relaxing environment with an abundance of wildlife and birdlife. The Park has excellent access and can accommodate your own motorhomes and touring caravans. There are 2 pods available with heating and electrics. We do allow general camping. We only accept camping for Pennine Way walkers. We have 5 self catering lodges all with hot tubs and 2 ‘bijou’ styled cottages (Min 3 night stay) - please see our website for more details.

Spruce Cottage is a former forestry workers cottage in the centre of Byrness on the edge of Northumberland National Park. The bunkhouse (purely for self catering) is ideal for exploring Northumberland, Kielder Forest and the Scottish Borders. It is perfect for groups, individuals and families. The 9 full sized single beds (not bunks) in 3 bedrooms have high quality mattresses, pillows, full bed linen, curtains and carpets. There is a large living room with original open fire and central heating. The Self Catering kitchen has electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, crockery etc. The dining room has another original open fireplace and large pine table to seat up to 10 people. Spruce cottage is in the heart of Byrness village directly opposite the multi award winning Forest View Inn with it`s famous real ale bar, food available if booked in advance. Towel hire available.
