Byrness lies in west-central Northumberland inside the Northumberland National Park and the Border Forest Park.
New for 2012 Foresters Bar & Restaurant serving quality home cooked meals & hand pulled local craft ales,also weekly guest ales. On the edge of the village is The Byrness which is also licensed.
A Forestry Comission village, established in the 1950s and `60s offering Licensed Walkers accommodation. B & B and camping facilities.

Forest View Inn is a multi award winning 4* Inn that specialises in 2 day stays to split the last (or first) 27 miles of the Pennine way into 2 more manageable days using a fully licensed and insured minibus. All double, twin and triple bedrooms are en-suite and our singles have a private shower and wc. There is a restaurant on site and a real ale bar serving locally brewed craft ales. A large efficient drying room and boot room is also available. Sandwiches are available for your onward journey supplemented by a well stocked `tuckshop`. 3 day stays etc. are also possible via an arrangement with a local taxi firm.
Border Forest Park is a secluded, quiet, dog friendly family run park, located in the centre of Northumberland and on the edge of The National Park .
Directly off the A68 the park has direct access onto the Pennine Way and the mighty Keilder Forest. A burn running though the site offers a relaxing environment with an abundance of wildlife and birdlife.
The Park has excellent access and can accommodate your own motorhomes and touring caravans. There are 2 pods available with heating and electrics.
We do allow general camping.
We only accept camping for Pennine Way walkers.
