Cockermouth

A slight detour from the marked route, Cockermouth is full of fine Georgian architecture. It is set at the point where two rivers meet, the Derwent and the Cocker, both famous salmon rivers. It holds an attraction for writers and poets, as it is the birthplace of William Wordsworth.
