Quaint anchorage point and marina area on the loch beneath the steeply wooded slopes of Conic Hill. There is a good tourist information centre
including a video about Loch Lomond; a pub and cafe area that is frequented by walkers. There used to be quite a lot of activity here as the drovers used to pass down the loch in boats carrying a cargo of cattle. Balmaha lies just to the South of The Great Highland Fault which geologically marks the
transition between the Lowlands and the highlands; hence all the islands stretched out in a line going out into the Loch.
