3 miles north of Blawith the Cumbria Way crosses over the main Ulverston to Coniston road at the hamlet of Sunny Bank. The village of Torver can be reached from Sunny Bank following the road. Or you can follow the Cumbria Way trail for another 2 miles along the shore of Coniston Water to Hoathwaite Landing, from where Torver can be reached via farm tracks Torver is a small village with an inn. Connected by bus with Coniston, Ulverston and Barrow.

Torver is a small village two miles from Coniston and surrounded by open fells within easy reach of all the lakes - a pleasure not to be missed ! Excellent location for walking, cycling, horse riding or just relaxing in lovely fresh air.

Welcome to our warm and friendly home in the Lake District. The Old Rectory Guest House and bed & breakfast in Coniston is the perfect place to stay to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the surrounding Coniston Fells and the Lake District National Park. Our house, built in 1868 for the Reverend Thomas Ellwood, nestles in three acres of gardens and woodland in the midst of rolling Cumbrian farmland.
