About Staithes
Despite the number of tourists in high summer this is an attractive fishing village which has some how avoided the 20th century in many ways. The oldest part of the town set around Staithes Harbour, on Staithes Beck, is beautiful, with the old cottages piled upon each other. The Cod and Lobster is a favourite pub with an old smuggling tradition. The village has many guest houses, a hotel, campsite, pubs, a bank, restaurants and buses.

Roraima was built in the 1890s by sea captain John Trattles and named after his steamship the SS Roraima. It is an impressive, large three-storey Victorian house built at the top end of the village of Staithes.
We, Sandra and Stuart, purchased the B&B in January 2009 and have renovated the accommodation with the addition of new en-suite bathrooms, new décor in all the guest rooms and a fully certified fire alarm system (along with other fire precautions throughout as required by the local council and fire division).
