Grosmont

We are currently creating 3 luxury twin spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. We will be opening for business in late March. Once the work is complete we will be up loading some photo's so please be patient. Gromont is the last stop on the Wainwright's Coast to Coast trail and has been sadly lacking in B&B accommodation in recent years. Since you will have to walk past our front door why not stay the night as well? The North York Moors steam railway is based in Grosmont and runs a dinner train on some evenings, why not save a long sober drive home by booking in for the night? Rates: £38 per person per night including breakfast. My partner Jay is an experienced chef and we are both looking forward to offering evening meals as well. The Bedrooms are quite generous so we will be providing comfortable seating so that you can relax in front of the TV. Alternatively you could sample the delights of the local Pub, the Station Tavern or the award winning Crossing Club . Drying facilities will be provided for soggy walkers. Breakfast will be a choice of a traditional English breakfast from locally sourced produce or a varied continental style selection.

Linten house is situated in the small village of Grosmont, overlooking the station, shops, public house and cafes. It caters mainly for walkers and cyclists for whom the North Yorkshire Moors provide quite roads and paths. It is an area of wild moors and green valleys and for the cyclists some challenging hills. If you are visiting the North York Moors Railway for a dining experience or a weekend away we are only 2 minutes away from the station. We have a large private bathroom with WC, Shower and bath on the first floor. We also have a small sitting room with tea and coffee making facilities and provision for drying wet clothes on the ground floor.

The Station Tavern is a 170 year old coaching inn. Extensive refurbishing of the bedrooms has reduced capacity in order to increase quality and comfort. The second en suite bedroom can be a double, twin or family room. The pub is open all day from Easter until October. Delicious Home-cooked food is of high quality, generous portions and reasonably priced. The relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal ''last night'' meeting place prior to the last few miles of walking to Robin Hoods Bay. Why not consider taking a rest day here to enjoy steam trains, Whitby (by train) local walks and industrial history. ''This pub is run by walkers for walkers''

Situated in the village of Grosmont the Station Tavern is ideal for the visitor wishing to take full advantage of the glorious rolling countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors and coast. The picturesque fishing port of Whitby is easily reached by bus or train (Esk Valley Line). The coast to coast walk passes through the village.
