About Melrose
Melrose nestles between the River Tweed and the Eildon hills. The latter are volcanic relics, although there is a legend that tells of the Devil splitting one hill into three, and there is another myth recounting how the ghost of King Arthur lies under the hills, which probably accounts for the fact that it is not seen very often! You may have time to visit a couple of the local attractions, maybe a twilight look at the marvellous pink abbey, where the heart of Robert the Bruce is buried in a lead casket. There are also the Priorwood gardens next to Middle Walk and the Teddy Bear Museum nearby.
