Excellent B&B right on the Dales High Way. The owner, Brenda, kindly gave us a lift to the Kings Arms in Ravenstonedale for our evening meal - very good too. Comfortable room and we really appreciated a good soak in the bath after a day's walking over the Howgills. Tasty breakfast the next morning set us up for the last day of DHW.

June 2012 - Walking the Dales High Way. Really great place. Lovely house and gardens. Room very comfortable and breakfast superb. Very friendly hosts. Lift to the pub an added extra. Couldn't fault. Would thoroughly recommend.

This is a great b & b. My husband and I stayed here when walking the Coast to Coast a few years back and have just been back whilst walking the dales highway. Brenda is a very keen walker herself so really knows what you need for an excellent nights stay!

We stayed at Tranna Hill whilst doing the dales highway last week. We were lucky our stay at Tranna Hill aligned with the unusually gorgeous sunny March! The house is set in lovely grounds and we enjoyed sitting on the patio in the sun surrounded by lovely rockery gardens/pond after a nice days walking. The room we stayed in was lovely, large with great views and nice pine furniture - and with a very modern bathroom with a lovely big bath which was perfect after a days walking! The owner (Brenda) drove us to the next Village for dinner which was 2 miles away, there is footpath but we’d decided we had walked enough so she dropped us off and picked us up (for no charge) Lovely meal in a very nice pub (Kings Head I think)
I had read about the breakfast on trip adviser and it certainly didn’t disappoint, there was everything you could want and more which set us up nicely for our last day walking to Appleby. Highly recommended and our joint favourite stay of the trip. Thank you.

Comfortable room and nice bathroom. A bit close to the main road, so need to keep (double glazed) windows closed if you're bothered by traffic noise. The friendly owner will drive guests to a local hostelry for dinner, where we had a very good meal.
