Comments by walkers who stayed at Tilldale House in Wooler on St Cuthbert''s Way

Highly recommended!

We were very lucky to be accommodated at the last minute and stayed in the building adjoining the main house. It features a separate living area with sofa and dining table which make it feel like a small cottage rather than a B&B! We found the spotless accommodation cosy and comfortable, and plenty is provided from shampoos and coffee to books.

Breakfast in the main house was substantial and delicious - there are a wide variety of options to choose from to suit every palate.

Julia is extremely friendly and welcoming, even to our dog who was rather reluctant to leave!

Overall, a superb place to stay.

Great B+B. Julia very friendly and our room was excellent and breakfast was good with pleanty of choice. Julia booked us into Milan Italian restaurant and we had a lovely evening meal.
Would certainly recommend to anyone on St Cuthberts way or visiting the area

Lovely spacious room and bathroom with excellent facilities.
Julia welcoming and friendly and we appreciated being able to eat our picnic downstairs that evening as we didn't feel like a pub meal.
The breakfast next day was also excellent. Highly recommended.

The proprietor, Julia, was delightful and very helpful. Having said that, we did think that Tilldale House had a dated feel to it and was in serious need of modernisation, especially in our bathroom. Also, given that the B&B is marketed as being walker friendly, the provision of boot drying facilities would be of great benefit.

Very comfortable and clean. Breakfast good. Helpful landlady who sent Teddy onwards with Sherpa Van Man. Good meal at hotel nearby.

A warm welcome, a very comfotable bedroom and loads of hot water. Tea and chocolate biscuits in the bedroom. TH is geared up for walkers - even the hall is tiled so that wet walkers, in muddy boots, can drip without causing offence! Great breakfast. Choice of local pubs and restaurant food for supper and shop opposite for packed lunches. Would heartily recommend.
