Pleasant Staff and a good breakfast make this a bearable stopover. Rooms are clean but rarther small.

As a group of 6 experienced walkers we stayed here on Friday 18/10/2002. We were very disappointed by the whole stay. Rooms very basic, initially with no towels or soap. Tea/coffee facilities had not been replenished. Mattresses were terrible.No hot water after two of our number had bathed. No meals on Friday, Saturday or Sunday evenings. Breakfast was swimming in fat and grease. Having had a similar experience at The FOX in Guisborough my advice is to avoid the town totally.
