Comments by walkers who stayed at The Volunteer Inn in Chipping Campden on The Cotswold Way

Stayed 01/07/14 - Good basic accommodation. Some noise from the pub but quietened down after the football. Good breakfast and very efficient bag transfer service.

Friendly welcome, good beer but the best part was the Maharaja Indian Restaurant that is part of the pub. One of the best Indian meals I have had for a long time.

Clean and comfortable, friendly staff, good breakfast. Transferred our baggage for the Cotswold Way very efficiently.

We stayed here as we were also using their baggage service and return to car facility. En-suite room with patio was very good and though the pub was a little noisy it quietened down well before midnight. Very good breakfast. Baggage service and our lift back from Bath was very efficiently organized and was faultless. We left our car in a designated Cotswold Way car park in Chipping Campden with no problems.

A good place to stay. Helpful and friendly. V. good breakfast. Excellent Indian restaurant - superb meal on our final evening. We stayed at start of Cotswold Way walk and again at end when we returned for our car. Would highly recommend.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a bag problem and it was taken out of our hands and sorted out excellently. Nice room and a great breakfast. The Indian restuarant is well worth a visit - best meal of our walk

First impressions of the Inn it seemed sparse but the guy behind the bar was friendly and reassuring. We were agreeable suprised at the quality of the rooms. The food was good and the owner who served breakfast next day was very helpful giving us some hints what to expect along the way. He even phoned ahead to our next stop to find out what was available to us for an evening meal. Would recommend even though it is a bit more pricey than the other accomodations we stayed at.

My wife and I started our walk there in mid-May. Cozy pub with friendly regulars. The room was nice. The owner was very helpful and attentive to walkers' needs. Actually, he was the friendliest of all the owners we met. Would certainly recommend and stay again.

Stayed there in January 2005. Excellent ensuite room, good meals and nice staff. Will go back. However, it was my most expensive stop - by some way!
