Comments by walkers who stayed at The Villa in Robin Hoods Bay on The Coast to Coast Path

very comfortable. We were made very welcome after a very wet final day on the Coast to Coast and were able to get most things dry. A very varied breakfast selection as we'd become a bit fed up of sausage and bacon. A bonus was a wonderful bistro just two doors away serving fantastic fish dishes for our evening meal

Very friendly welcome at this beautifully furnished B&B. Nothing too much trouble & lots of useful local information. Room comfortable but shower room very small, good breakfast.

Stylish B&B. TV in mirror. Landlady very helpful. Let me leave case and pushbike in shed to pick up later. Made good use of hairdryer for room heater and to dry out.

What a lovely place to end our C to C! Jane made us so welcome and whisked away our (very) wet coats and trousers to dry. Our room was lovely, with a massive, comfy bed, tasteful decor and amazing shower room. Jane even organised a special opening of the jet shop for us. We would go back to stay longer here

I can't recommend this place highly enough. I stayed on the last night of the C2C, in a single ensuite room (with a lovely bath!). The B&B is very well located on the C2C, at the top of the hill near the bus stop, where I easily caught a bus to Whitby for the train the next morning. The owner, Jane, was exceptionally genuine and friendly. Not the type of B&B owner who is simply running a business, but a cheerful and helpful person who clearly enjoys meeting people. The bath towels and bed linens were the softest/best quality on the whole C2C, and the room had everything I could need or want. I definitely plan to stay again.

Jane - you were so helpful in retrieving our suitcase from our B&B in Grosmont - having been forgotten by Sherpa. Many thanks for all the phone calls made and the therapeutic white wine.

We stayed here in June after completing C2C.
Very welcoming and helpful landlady who ran us down to the town to collect f and chips, provided plates etc and set up picnic table in garden (for 10 of us). Good breakfast (lots of fruit) and clean, comfortable rooms.

The Villa is a wonderful property with large sized bedrooms. There are no en-suite facilities but this does not detract from the experience of staying at the Villa. Jane was especially helpful in providing internet access, booking dinner at a local bistro and providing an early breakfast to allow us to catch public transport the next morning.

Very clean, friendly and helpful. Quiet location on the way down into town. Drop your pack before you dip your toes! Just across the street from the one bus stop in Robin Hoods Bay...very important if you're taking the bus to the train station in Scarborough, or wherever. Most comfortable beds of any B&Bs we stayed in. Highly recommend!

Just finished a Sept 2008 C2C trip ending with a stay at the Villa. What a treat to end the trip with a clean, well appointed room with a staff (especially Jane) that made us feel more than welcome. The attendion to our requests, including a special request from Canada made the stay memorable. I would recommend the Villa to other walkers.

We have stayed here twice, once on the Cleveland Way in 2005 and in June of this year at the end of the Coast to Coast. The beds are like heaven. Lovely hostess, immaculate accomodation, great breakfast. didnt miss an ensuite one bit, as the huge bath with loads of hot water was just what I needed.

I am totally confused by the last comments from John Howley and wonder if if stayed at the same place as us. The Villa is clean, extremely spacious and comfortable. Jane is a hard working, very ftiendly and caring hostess. The reception was first class, the breakfast was first class . Jane allowed us to leave our bags at The Villa whilst our lift arrived and even made us a cup of tea in the few minutes before we left - long after we had officially booked out. There are plenty of B & B's in RHB but this would be the first on my list in future and indeed I intend to return for a few days with my wife. I don't think I can say better than that. Many thanks Jane.

I stayed early october 2007 after walking the c2c and found the villa overpriced: for breakfast i was sat at a long communal table and the actual breakfast was burnt and i thought was not the best. Robin Hoods Bay appears generally to be overpriced. A better end to the walk would be a pint in Robin Hoods Bay and then catching a bus to Whitby.

Jane is the best ! Gorgeous place - meticulously kept and great breakfasts. It is in the upper part of the village so you will have to walk to go to the actual town and The Bay Hotel. But, when you have a place like The Villa to come back to it is well worth it. It was a little noisy in the morning with car traffic, but I didn't see any other place that would be quieter. Thanks Jane.

What a lovely end to the walk. Jane made us very welcome in one of the best B & B’s on route. The bathrooms - note the plural - were great and although not en-suite, there was plenty of hot water for a glorious bath for everyone. The breakfast was excellent, especially for veggies who may have experienced some mediocre food along the way. Jane also recommended the Wayfarer for an evening meal which was also very, very good. It was apparent though that she did not take such recommendations lightly and knew the standard was high. The décor was lovely and the beds very comfortable. Thanks Jane.

The Villa was even more wonderful than we had expected.. The rooms are lovely and tastefully decorated in antiques. But the best of all was the gracious hospitality of our hostess, Jane. Oh, and the breakfast was one of the best, wonderful assortment of fresh fruit along with the full breakfast. Robin Hood Bay is a delightful village town and we are so glad that we spent 2 nights after our walk. A nice rest after a wonderful walk. Truly a reward.

After our failed reservation at the Wayfarer, we found accommodation here. We were not disappointed. Very nice room with good bath down the hall. Super breakfast and gracious host.

This is the most wonderful Victorian house, beautifully restored. Rooms are a good size and the bedlinen and towels are top quality. Jane gave us a great welcome. Breakfast even included fresh pineapple and mango and Greek yogurt: bliss for those of us who had eaten too many cooked breakfasts by day 14!

I give Jane high marks: good hospitality, good accomodations and good food. There were four of us finishing the C2C and we were all delighted with our stay. (My brother is a designer and he was very impressed with the decor. My feet were sore and I was impressed with the big bathtub.)

We undertook the walk in June 2004. The Villa is a beautiful and spotless home with an interesting history. The decoration and furniture creates a true Victorian atmosphere and is very well presented. Jane looked after us very well and we had a very comfortable stay after a long walk that day. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast prior to continuing the walk.
Highly recommended.

Mike and I managed the C2C in one week. But we needed TLC at the end, and Jane`s B7B was just right. Nice clean rooms, lovely bathtub (big thank you from the feet!) and best of all a superb full breakfast. You will not be disappointed.
