A very warm welcome. Pot of tea and biscuits served in the delightful garden on arrival. Very nice room. Evening meal and breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Well worth the extra half mile walk up the lane and would reccomend. Could not fault it and very reasonable price.
Stayed September 2013.

Great stay for 6 of us on a walking holiday from the USA. Friendly, great food, fabulous garden, and we loved the converted dovecote cottage. One of the best we stayed in for the whole trip.

On the 19th of May I stayed with my friend in the Easthouse, the farmhouse next to the Dovecote : lovely accommodation with a lovely garden. We met the man who stayed in The Dovecote and he was wildly enthousiastic about the accommodation, which was furbished with a designer's eye, he said.
The meal was excellent with fresh vegetables from the garden. But best of all we had a very warm welcome and since I had a twisted knee and could hardly walk, mrs. Bradley offered to take me to the surgery some 10 miles further on and picked me up afterwards. I didn't have to ask ! She even offered me a crutch to walk with !
I will recommend Easthouse with The Dovecote to anyone going to Hadrian's Wall.

We were staying with 2 couples in the mainhouse in 2 completely renovated lovely bedrooms with a nice shower and bathroom.
After a very warm welcome we were invited for tea in the beautiful garden. The owners created here a paradise.
After a drink in the comfortable living area we were surprised with a very tasefulf meal cooked by the lady of the house (of course with fresh salad from their own garden).
In the morning we met the couple that stayed in the Dovecote and we all had a enjoyable breakfast.
Unfortunately we had to move on with our walk along The Hadrian Wall.
Definitely a place to remember.

We stayed at the Dovecote near Chollerford on the 24th May and it was a magical experience. The Victorian walled garden is now in it's prime and to sit there with a glass of wine having had a superb home cooked dinner was simply the best; especially after a hard day's walking. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, David and Jane, and the packed lunch for our next day's trek was also excellent. We had a peek inside the Dovecote itself and it really has been beatifully refurbished. We were in the main house and the room was just as described and after a good night's sleep and a delicious 'full English' we were on our way again. Will definitely stay again.

Just want to say a few words about our wonderful stay at the Dovecote. The weather was fantastic, the accommodation superb and the food delicious. The Dovecote is a beautiful building and it was a privilege to be able to stay there. David and Jane were really friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. 5 stars ***** best weekend break we have had.

The Dovecote is quite probably lovely, but we were given an attic bedroom in the main house, which was extremely disappointing for the price of 70. The small room had steps down into it immediately behind the door, the bed was a normal sized double, and the ceiling sloped dramatically down half of the room, meaning you had to constantly watch your head, and the tiny window was at floor level. Very limited TV signal. The bathroom only had a bath, no shower. We paid the same amount - 70 the previous night in Heddon for a beautiful barn conversion with shower, bedroom, lounge and lovely garden - no comparison. But then there's not a lot of choice in Chollerford.

A lovely place to stay. Sleeping in the dovecote was an experience - very comfortable, friendly hosts and great food. Not to be missed.

Brilliant!! My partner and I stayed at the dovecote and thoroughly enjoyed our experience, we would definitely recommend it.

The accommodation itself is unique and the bedroom will be a recurring topic of conversation for years to come. Jane (the proprietor) was friendly and attentive and deserves praise because shortly after we arrived we were provided with a delicious home cooked three course meal and a complimentary bottle of wine at short notice. This cost was 15 per head but was worth every penny. We ate the food in the fantastic vine laden greenhouse in the magnificent garden adjoining the dovecote and this in itself was a lovely experience.

It is approximately one mile on from Chollerford but not too far off the walk itself.
