Comments by walkers who stayed at Thackwood in Robin Hoods Bay on The Coast to Coast Path

Great place to finish, and, because we went 'off piste' we didn't have to walk past it on the way to the village. Great room, great breakfast and a grand welcome after 190 miles. :)

I stayed one night during September after completing my solo C2C walk. Thackwood is virtually the first house you reach on entering Robin Hood’s Bay. I had a good sized, comfortable and very well equipped twin room with an equally nice en-suite. Everything I might have needed was provided. I felt very comfortable at Thackwood and could easily have stayed much longer.

We stayed at Thackwood on 30 June, and found it a welcome sight as we entered the village. We had a large, beautifully decorated ensuite room with the added bonus of a sweeping view over rooftops to the bay. A great end to the C2C walk - highly recommended.

Absolutely the perfect place to stay to end the trip. It is literally right at the end of the trail. Gorgeous, comfortable room overlooking the Bay. Big, spacious bathroom. Our feet were so sore from the long hike and we really needed this pampering. The breakfast was superb. We appreciated Tim giving us a lift to the bus stop to catch the bus to Scarborough for our train to London. We didn't find much choice for meals in Robin's Hood Bay. May have been because it was a Monday. August 2007

A high note to end on! Lovely big room (loved the furniture) big bathroom, lovely shower. Sky TV. Friendly and helpful hosts. Fish and chips from the only take away - highly recommended.

This comes in a very close second to Barn House in Orton. We had had a long-ish day (from Glaisdale) and we delighted to collapse in a beautiful room with an excellent bathroom. Thackwood is a very professional operation, reflecting Sue’s background in the hotel industry. She knows what works for guests. Tim very kindly dropped us off with our luggage to catch the bus to Scarborough - and we very much wished we had allowed an extra day at RHB, because another night at Thackwood would have been very acceptable.

Fabulous rooms, a perfect end to the walk. Our host was friendly and eager to please. The views over the bay were lovely too.

A truely lovely B & B. Tim even drove us back to Hawkser when we messed up the end of the walk and missed the coast path. We can't thank Sue and Tim enough.

WoW! A wonderful B&B - true luxury. Sue really makes you feel at home. The room was magnificent and the sea view outstanding.
