We were well looked after, with a good evening meal at a cheap price, and lots to choose from at breakfast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this friendly 'couthy' Inn. Rooms were clean and comfortable, packed lunch sandwiches were delicious, Staff really helpful.

A warm & friendly welcome. Comfortable ensuite room, The inn is next to a main road but I didn't find it too noisy. The food is excellent and not too expensive.

I stayed here while walking St Cuthbert's Way.

It was very nice indeed, I would be happy to return.

This is a great village inn in the middle of nowhere. It's a good staging post on St Cuthbert's Way, and if you're looking for alternatives... there aren't any!
But that's fine, we had a great night here. Simple rooms and restaurant, but old fashioned hospitality and hearty food, and a busy bar much used by locals. Recommend

We loved it here. This was a really friendly pub with comfortable clean rooms and a fantastic shower. Having stayed here a year ago during the St Cuthbert's Way, we have just got back from a weekend using this pub as our base, just because it was so lovely. Fabulous food at reasonable prices and no problems with soggy, muddy walkers. Highly recommended.

Arrived early and that gave us a chance to grab a drink in the beer garden which has wonderful views of the surrounding area. Evening meal was great and place is highly recommended.

Nice little pub, with accomodation. Dinner was excellent, and it is right on the trail.
