Comments by walkers who stayed at Rothay Garden Hotel in Grasmere on The Coast to Coast Path
This was our most expensive stay but probably worth it. Roomy with a large bath. Breakfast was extensive and excellent.

This was a treat. Like others before us we took two nights here for a little pampering after our first 3 days on the hoof. We had a lovely room - Helm Crag up in the eaves - with a wonderful huge bath. We ate at the hotel on our first evening - excellent food - and then in the village on our second. I would definitely plan at least one night in Grasmere on the C2C (Rosthwaite all the way to Patterdale is quite a big ask if you are not especially strong walkers and it adds the opportunity to include a peak from the Helvellyn range on the way to Patterdale if you want). Not cheap, of course, but reasonable all round value if you fancy a bit of a treat.

We spent two nights here to catch our breath, great room felt very spoilt, lovely food and luxury bathroom with a deep realxing bath. If you fancy spoiling yourself onroute after all it is a hoilday we would fully recommend it. Ps. Also had a great drying room 25th july 2009

Lovely evening meal and also good drying facilities. However, felt room was a bit pricey for what was offered. Perfectly nice en-suite room but not best on route although most expensive.
